My latest fun...Forbidden Fruit...lol. The red part of the top is from a shirt that had...ummm...shall we say, gotten a little snug. I am gonna have the best jammie selection in Ohio at the rate I am going:). Am thinkin I am gonna make some short bottoms...for a change. I also found my "elephant leg" jammie bottom pattern...look out world!
Some of you have emailed in order to check up on me. Overall, life is good. Suffering a few minor finacial set-backs but am trusting my heavenly Father, who has never failed to take care of me. My health insurance got re-instated so I have been going to lots of appointments...both doctor and dentist. Now, we all know I would much rather be at home blogging or sewing, but I do what I gotta do:).
Hugs...and have an absolutely wonderful week~

Clothing Reconstruction

I am the kinda person who hates to waste anything. Sometime ago I picked up an outfit(top and skirt) at the thrift store cos it had these gorgeous big plastic buttons on it and buttons printed in the fabric. I love buttons:)! Although I do admit that when I bought it I mostly wanted those plastic buttons, I simply could not toss the outfit in the trash. I was gonna use the fabric to make purse linings. Instead, I decided to make me a house dress. Last night once I started playing around with it, the house dress has morphed into a darling sun dress and shrug! It is so much fun to just play and see what comes out. I cut the top down, trimmed off the neckline, and am working on the sleeves. I am using a darling little seashell stitch to edge everything so there is NO hemming involved. The skirt and bottom of the top are becoming the sun dress which will fall below my knees. And for shoes to complete the ensemble? Why black flip-flops with the other two red buttons sewn onto them, of course!

Flip-Flop Floozie, too!
This one is for Flip-Flop Floozie! I have not been feeling well, but I can't let that stop me from shopping, now can I? My baby girl got her stimulus check today and we took our Annual Flip-Flop Find trip:). Joann Fabrics had them for 2 bucks a pair. Here is my haul for the day! I have so many pairs that I had to make a organizer with pockets to hold them all last year. Can u tell what my favorite foot wear is? I even wear last years haul around the house all winter:).

Quilter's Eye Candy~

I just entered to win this gorgeous quilt top! If I do win it, I will hang it in my black, red, and brown living room:).
On the first day of every month I get an email from a wonderful lady who actually lives not too far from where I grew up. She reminds me to come see her latest creations and to enter her monthly contest for a FREE QUILT TOP. While any quilt would be a major score to a quilt lover, Linda's contest is different from any I have seen. She lets you pick the top you would like to win from all of the ones she has made. There is an amazing array of choices. Linda loves to piece quilt tops and it is evident after even the smallest peek at her site. Go check out her lovelies! You will be glad that you did. Quilters honor:).

Darling little Quilt Give-A-Way!
Julie is giving away this darling little quilt in honor of her 68th post and/or Spring:). She made too many blocks for the OC Mystery quilt and did what comes naturally to us quilters: She made a quilt out of them. I love this little darling:
Isn't it just delicious? It measures just 14" x 20" inches. To enter in the drawing simply leave a comment at this post on her blog. Good luck~

Tonight I am grateful for...

Great balls of fire! Did you eat the Atomic Fireball candy when you were a kid? I did...and I love them to this day.
Cinnamon has always been my favorite flavor for lollipops or hard candy. In sixth grade we used to soak toothpicks in cinnamon oil and then sell them to other kids for a nickle:).
Last night while at Wal-Mart, as I may have been perusing the candy isle for nougut-ahem-I spied my second all time favorite cinnamon candy. Jolly Rancher Cinnamon Fire. Woot~Woot~. I am not talking a few cinnamon tossed in with those yucky fruity ones either. I am talking a whole bag of cinnamony yumminess!!!
Can we just say that I am a happy camper?

Today I am grateful that...
My daughter loves me:). She is a 'tagger and snagger' and she is where most of the images you find at the head of my posts come from. Dont' you just love this one?

Sassy is home!
So, how do you like the new look? I LOVE it~~~ I had been wanting a 'me' look for the bog for some time and when I found a link to NW Designs on someone's blog, I followed it. I was impressed, so I hired the woman that I now refer to as 'The Bloginator'.
Cyn was easy to work with, has great talent and awesome prices, and she didn't flinch when I asked for two tweaks. Sounds like a super heroine to me.
My Sassy bug was a gift from a friend several years back; he actually contracted with an artist to make her just for me. Gotta love them friends.
If you are in the market for a blog re-do do NOT hesitate to call on Cyn. You will be thrilled that you did!

89. Write about or draw some of the doors in your life.

Wish Jar
In response to an idea suggested at the above linked blog:
In my kitchen there is a door that leads either outside or to the basement. I finally indulged my love for red doors and painted it!
In the overall scheme of life, this is a pretty basic door, but every time I see that door it makes me smile!
Do something that makes you smile:).
