Thankful Thursday.

It's been a rough week. SSI denied my claim. I was so upset. The claim has been pending since October of 2007 and I got the denial letter this week. I had to regroup and remember that my God meets all of my needs according to His riches in glory. Not once in all the years I have lived has He ever let me go without my needs met. I choose to trust Him in this situation and not get stressed out over it. I am getting a lawyer and I figure the longer it takes them to send me my first check, the bigger it will be.

So many times over the years, God has supplied over and abundantly for me. I am so blessed that He does so.

My 300th Post~~Graphic Give-A-Way:).

First things first! This is officially my 300th Post! I am sure there are those of you who are glad we are acquainted only in Blogland, cause if I post this much how much must I talk? You are NOT allowed to discuss that quandry with my dear brother...lol.

As has been my norm when reaching the 'hundredths' posts, I am having a Give-A-Way. This time, though, it is a little different since everyone is a winner! My dear darling daughter, who spoils me richly, has made alphas as a way of "Paying-It-Forward" in Blogland. An alpha is a graphic alphabet and lots of us bloggers use them for keeping us on track and providing a theme for our Thursday Thirteen meme posts.

There are: a cat doing what cats do best and even the letters are made of cat poses, a nuzzling penquin pair, a celestial one featuring the woman in the moon, and even a cute little girly in a polka-dotted dress! Women over 50 don't have babies because they would put them down and forget where they left them.

A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills... she has 14 kids but doesn't really care.

One of life's mysteries is how a 2-pound box of chocolates can make a woman gain 5 lbs.

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you are doing, someone else does.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.

I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knicker's.

Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks 2 sizes!

Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like...'You know sometimes I forget to eat!' Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name and my keys, but I have never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat!

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day!

Mr. Linky has moved! I just purchased a Gold Membership with him and I am anxious to see my meme linked to from him:). How sweet is that? I just learned that search engines and Technoratti do not, in fact, automatically count links posted in Mr. Linky. BUT, Mr. Linky is one smart cookie and has devised a way we can get them links to count...Hoo Yah! So, I am gonna be implementing the way he shows on his site:).

And, yes, I just texted my Navy Man to be sure I made the right battle cry..."Hoo Yah" is Navy! I sure do love my Navy Man and miss him like crazy!

May I have a proud momma moment?

I just called my Navy Man with some good news...his federal tax refund is here. Well, he had good news for me, too. He is volunteering and working with Habitat For Humanity! As a Mom I feel that I did not instill enough of a sence of community in my children. Health and lack-of-car kept me from volunteering and setting the example I would have preferred that my children had seen. Lemme tell you...him doing this just warms the cockles-of-my-sweet-lil-ole-pea-pickin-heart! It also made my eyes tear up.

As a low income family, we recieved a lot of assistance from our local community and I am thrilled that my Navy Man is paying-it-forward!

Mike just gave this award to my son! This is what Mike had to say:

That is really nice for your Navy Man to do; my hat's off to him. I have a big Bear hug award on my site. I'd like you to come and get it and send it to him with my thanks for A) Serving our country, B) for giving some of his time for Habitat for Humanity! One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.

Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities. Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be. One friend will say, "Let's cry together,"

Another, "Let's walk away together."



One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.




But whatever their assignment in your life,
On whatever the occasion,
On whatever the day,
Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back,
Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself...
Those are your best friends.




It may all be wrapped up in one woman,
But for many, it's wrapped up in several..
