The most amazing thing is happening to me! Can you tell that I am excited about it? The funny thing is that it is all so simple. We, as humans, do tend to complicate things, don't we?
What am I rambling about? On January 22, of this year, I got an email inviting me to participate in Grateful Gals because the co-ordinator had been reading my blog and felt that practicing an Attitude of Gratitude would help me out of my depression. Now there is one wise woman!
I have tried to be faithful in posting at least one thing that I am grateful for daily since then. Yesterday I noticed that I am actually quite contented. Imagine that!
This is one of my favorite quotes on gratitude:
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Today I am grateful for that dear lady who reached out to me!
What are you grateful for today?

Amen. We always have choices. Circumstances will always change, but our attitudes we can choose. It takes work. It takes practice; it takes a close relationship and walk with our Lord. But He is sufficient for all of our needs. The joy of the Lord is our strength. He is who He is no matter where we are or what is happening, and in THAT we can always have joy! It is gettting it deep within your heart to believe it in your soul, no just with your head. "There is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still," said Corie Ten Boom while in a Nazi concentration camp. Love this post on attitude. Let's choose joy! Amen sister!
I needed to hear every bit of that. It is all so true and something we all need to remember. You have been practicing a grateful attitude and it seems that's why you are finding yourself more content. What a blessing.
You mentioned depression. Do you suffer with that a lot? I have had problems with depression in the past, and it's not a fun thing.
I am just so happy for you. Gratitude makes ALL the difference! I am just overwhelmed and delighted that it is and will continue to make all the difference!...p.s. I love you too!
