What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?
This question flooded me with memories:). There was a cartoon with a white lion and his name was Kimba. I LOVED him!
Soup
Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I actually do wanna get a pet in the near future. A puppy! Not sure what I would name it, I would have to see it first.
Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?
I am a basic blue-jeans-kinda-gal, but can dress to the nines when an occasion calls for it. Due to the fact that I abhor putting on panty hose, I will have to give this one an 8.
Main Course

Not only am I a blue-jeans-kinda-gal, I am an 80's-kinda-gal,too. However, there are some great new songs out there right now.

I got a small alarm clock a few months ago. It runs on batteries but it also tick-tocks. I find the sound soothing. It is in my bedroom.

Newest project~

Here is what I am working on:

This bag: (the red asterick marks the one)

From 3 of these fabrics: (From the left...1st, 2nd, 4th.)

What do you think?

My productive evening...

I love the times when a 'project' just falls into place! The fabric for this tote bag came from a dear friend who was moving and generously sent me two boxes crammed with fabric. I love this print! Thanx, Deb:).

The bag finished at 19" wide x 18" tall. I tack-quilted the outer fabric to the batting, made sturdy handles, and for the first time ever put in a magnetic snap! There is even a pocket inside.

I really do need to come up with some creative ideas for photographing my bags.

Clicking on the pic will open a bigger and better one.

Beautiful Birds Bag

Close-up of lining:

Beautiful Birds Bag...close-up of lining.

Now that I have been given the official 'OK' I can tell you who this bag is for. My heart-adopted Mom, Betty, will be getting this for Mother's Day. It is safe to post this cos I had to be sure it was something she would love!

Love ya...Mom~

200th Post WOOT~ WOOT~

I did it~ I made it to 200 posts!!! On August 10, 2007, I started this blog...and the rest, as they say, is history!

As promised, we are gonna celebrate:). I am trying to make some decisions about marketing my purses so I am gonna hold another give-a-way in order to inspire you to help me make said decisions.

To celebrate my 200th post with my current and future blog sisters/friends/buddies/pals I am having a bag give-a-way! To see some of the bags I have made click here.

To have a chance at winning one of my bags:

1. Take the poll that is in the side bar.

2. Leave a comment to this post with your opinion on these matters: A. Should I make up a lot of purses and offer them -or- should I only make them as ordered? B. What is a reasonable price that you would be willing to pay for a handmade purse? Remember I will need to be able to contact the winner via email, so please be sure to leave an email addy in your comment if you do not have a blogger account.

Then to increase your entries, (and chances of winning) you can do either or both of the following:

3. Put the following CODE in a post telling your readers about the Give-A-Way. Come back here and leave the perma-link to your post. This is worth 5(five) additional chances:).

4. Put the CODE or information in an email and send it to your friends. In the subject line, please put: 200th Post-Blog-Bag Give-A-Way. Also send a copy of the e-mail to me by putting my addy in the CC or BBC field. Each person you send it to gets you 1(one)additional chance at winning. My addy: scrappynhappyATgmailDOTcom .

NOTE: I learned something interesting during my birthday give-a-way. The gal who won had one-third of the entries:). This majorly increased her chances of winning...and it worked...lol.

This Give-A-Way ends at 9:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, April 2, 2008. All entries...comments and emails... will be numbered in the order received and then I will use a Random Number Generator to pick the winner. Winner will be posted on this blog and notified by email sometime Tuesday, April 2, 2008. At that point the winner and I will discuss pattern and fabric choices. I will ship the bag as soon as it is finished.

Newest Creation

So, yesterday, when I was not posting...I was sewing:). This is what I made:

This Laurel Birch fabric was $2.00 a yard at Walmart and I bought every inch they had of it. I was holding out for sometthing special to make with it and looking for the perfect accent fabric to go with it. This works for me!

P-s-s-s-t...I am gonna let you in on a secret...but I DO want you to tell this one. Tomorrow is my 48th birthday so one lucky reader will win one of my handbags! Check back later today for more juicy details.

Hugs...

Writer's Island...My first time:)

This week marks the twenty third Writer’s Island prompt. It is: “Second Chance”. This is such an interesting topic that I had to give my mind some time to process it. I am a churn-n-burn writer...stuff churns-n-burns and then when it is done, it comes out.

My first thoughts are of all the times I have been given another chance. The most obvious one was given to me by Jesus when He died on the cross to pay the price for my sins and made it so that I can approach my Heavenly Father in prayer. This is, obviously, also the second chance for which I am most grateful.

As for other second, third, fortieth chances, my children have never failed to forgive me and give me another chance to get it right. I have messed up a lot in my life and they have, besides myself, been the most affected. It gets worse cause when your kids you hurt. They have good hearts and forgiveness is the gift they give me when necessary.

Ok...now on to the other side of second chances and my having given them to others. I have, in the past chosen to give relationships repeated chances...not necessarily the person in question as I would have had to judge them and found them at fault. As we all know, it takes two to make or break a relationship and I have done my part in those circumstances. In the one relationship that I gave the most chances, I was married and I took my vows to heart. Unfortunately, there are sometimes circumstances beyond our control and doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results becomes the recipe for insanity. Let me be the first to say that insanity is no place to be. It is lonely, miserable, and depressing. In order to leave that place, I had to leave the relationship. Today I reside in contentment and this is a wonderful place to be.

I am, in fact, right now waiting on someone from my past to decide whether or not to give our relationship a second chance. I have left this at the throne and will cling to God regardless of any decisions made. He is my ROCK.

Today, I am grateful for second chances!

Today I am grateful that I was able to make something fun~

This is what I did today:). Yes, I know I am stuck on Nemo...lol. I am in my second childhood and I am loving it. (The first one sucked.)
This one is roughly 16" x 16" before handles...has a Dorie-blue lining and orange polka dot pocket:). I used fusible fleece to make it sturdy and then got brave and did some free motion quilting. I wasn't crazy about this pattern when I saw it, but now that it's done I am a happy camper~

And look...it is NOT 3 a.m.! It's only 2:20 a.m. Today I am grateful that I can make things!

I found Nemo!

I made this darlin~ lil bag last night. Don't let it's cuteness fool you...by 3 a.m., I had affectionately named it the 'bag from h-e-double toothpicks'!

Only after sewing in the lining did I realize the handles were sewn wrong...so I ripped it out. Then, I re-sewed the lining back in- inside out! So Nemo is a little shorter than intended because I refused to frog(rippit) again. I CUT it down! S-h-h-h-h...

Good news is that it's done and I adore it!

Today I am grateful that Nemo didn't ultimately cause me a trip to the psych ward:).

All fabric from stash. Here are Nemo's innards...sorry couldn't resist...
